Our summer theme at the New Carlisle Library is LIBRARIES ROCK! The following Saturdays are going to be OPEN MIC NIGHT. June 9, 16, 23 and July 21, all 3-5 pm. Each segment will be about 20 minutes. You may play an instrument, sing, or read your latest writing.

Where can you bow a fiddle, pluck a banjo, or thump a bass? At your local library! Lafferty Pike is an all-girl bluegrass band from southwest Ohio that enjoys sharing their love of music with young audiences. This "Musical Petting Zoo" starts with a fun-filled half-hour concert. Then the kids in the audience are invited to try out each instrument! Everyone's welcome! Have you ever seen rocks that have patterns in them or look like they were once animals or plants? Jim Carr, the Fossil Guy, talks about fossils commonly found in Ohio and around the U.S. Get up close and personal with these interesting rocks! Everyone's welcome.

Back by (very) popular demand! Join us for an interactive and exciting reptile experience as you look and even touch real reptiles at the library. The program will be in the adult library and is for all ages. No registration necessary. 

Dr. Insecta will get your kids dancing, singing and learning about those fantastic rockin’ bugs that help our earth keep jammin’ on!  Meet the famous beetles, dance to their songs and see other famous insects like, “Morticia” the tarantula and “Rhonda” the roach! All ages welcome, no registration necessary.
